How it works

How professional childproofing works

One visit to see your home through your child's eyes, one clear plan, and an installation that fits your house.

  1. Book a visit

Call, text or send the form. We ask a few quick questions: your ZIP code, the type of home, how old your child is or when the baby is due, and whether you have pets.

If you already know a specific problem, such as a banister that no gate seems to fit, tell us. We plan the visit around it.

  2. Childproofing specialist walking a family through a home safety assessment

    In-home safety assessment

We walk through the whole home with you: every room, the stairs and landings, the kitchen and bathrooms, the garage, balconies and the yard. We look at it the way a crawling and then climbing child will, low and curious.

We check what can tip, what can open, what can be reached and where a fall could happen. In Los Angeles that also means earthquake risks such as tall furniture, TVs, heavy art and the water heater.

  3. Room-by-room childproofing plan shown on a tablet in a sunlit kitchen

    Your room-by-room plan

You get an itemized plan grouped by room, with what we recommend and why. Nothing is bundled in a way that hides what you are paying for.

You decide what to do now and what can wait. Families with a newborn often start with furniture anchoring and the nursery, then add gates and cabinet locks when the baby starts to crawl.

  4. Professional installing a baby gate bracket with a cordless drill

    Professional installation

We install everything on the plan: gates fitted to your stairs and openings, anchors set into studs or masonry, locks and latches, window stops and railing guards.

We pick mounting methods that respect your finishes, test each piece, and show you how gates and locks open so the whole household can use them.

  5. Adjustments as your child grows

Needs change fast. A gate that was perfect for a crawler may need a taller one for a climber, and toddlers learn to open things. Call us when your child hits a new stage, and when you no longer need the hardware we can remove it and patch the holes.

Frequently asked questions

Do we need to be home for the assessment?

Yes, one adult who knows the household routine should be there. We will ask how you use each room, where the baby sleeps and plays, and which doors stay open. A nanny or home manager can stand in if they can make decisions or reach you quickly.

Is the installation done on the same day as the assessment?

Sometimes small items can be installed right away, but most homes need custom-fitted gates or specific hardware. In that case we schedule installation after you approve the plan.

Can we install some things now and the rest later?

Yes. The plan is built so you can do it in stages. Many families start with anchoring and the nursery before the baby arrives, then add gates, cabinet locks and window stops when the baby starts moving.

What should we do before the visit?

Nothing special. Keep the home as it normally is so we see real conditions. If you already bought gates or locks, leave them out and we will tell you whether they fit your home safely.
